The 124’ Nelseco ferry ran primarily the Point Judith (Narragansett R.I) to Block Island run from 1981 to 2010. Certified for up to 800 passengers and about 25 autos, it made the 15 mile crossing in 55 minutes. As traffic to and fro the island increased, at first she was joined by the larger Carol Jean, and then by a host of more modern auto ferries and hi-speed passenger ferries. The Nelseco followed the classic and handsome Ines of ferries deigned by J.W. Gilbert Associates.
Like the similarly sized port Welcome, the main and second (01) decks are see-through, as is the pilot house. Add your own interior details, from tables and chairs, to the concession stand, to lots of people. From custom brass photo-etched railings and stairways to many 3D-printed details, the model has the high level of details expected from N Scale Ships.
A completed model is $450 plus shipping. The kit is $135 plus shipping.
